Josh's Game

National Lampoon's Vacation is a classic comedy movie created nearly 30 years ago.

Further news to come.

Playtesting game

I played Tristan & Dylan's game MineEscape recently.

It was OK but not the kind of escapist game I would play.

I was difficult to get out of the maze in time before the water would rise.

I give this game 2 cats out of 5.

Workshop 2

In today's blog post I'll be analysing the classic 80s game - BurgerTime!

Interactivity
Users use the keyboard directional arrows to navigate the chef character around the ladders.

Concept
The concept of the game supposedly is the chef needs to create some burgers and the egg and sausages keep attacking him.

Spacial Arena
The environment appears to be a ladder and platform network.

Goal
Users must cross accross each burger component, causing it to fall to the bottom. Once all burgers are complete at the bottom, the user wins the level.

Challenge
The egg and sausages will try to corner the chef character similarly to Pac Man. Users must try and outrun the "enemies". The chef also has pepper at his disposal which deployed with the enter key, disables the enemies temporarily.

Story
There does not appear to be any real story behind the game other than it may be a reenactment of a chef's nightmare.

Overall, it's enjoyable and challenging to complete each level.

The simplicity and attention to playability of 80s games is what attracts modern gamers to the platform.
